We Beautifully Restore Old Garden Sheds to Look Better Than When New. This Work Is Carried Out Locally in The Surrey Hills Area Only.
My Story
I have been making and restoring my bespoke vintage cast metal and seasoned hardwood finger-post signs for a number of years to an ultra high standard in order to create permanent and attractive period signs from the Edwardian Age of charm & elegance.
With my considerable skills base I am now extending my work spectrum to include the full refurbishment of windows and doors of period properties in the local Surrey Hills area I am also including the refurbishment of garden gates, wooden fences and outbuildings. Again this is all done just as with the signs to a very high standard. This is achieved by obtaining an intense degree of preparation and use of the professional two part resin filler. All metal and timber surfaces are meticulously rubbed down, dusted off before being etch primed, filled with a two part resin filler or replacement new section of timber inserted. I then sand back again, re-prime, undercoat and then apply with two tops coats of air-breathing paint to any timber or specialist etching primer to any metalwork followed by an undercoat and two top coats of an industrial exterior finish gloss.
I believe that it is totally unacceptable to leave any paint runs, hairs on paintwork, ignore any paint misses or transparency from not applying enough top coat paint. I simply cant understand why some contractors paint straight over unprepared surfaces and ignore existing paint blisters by simply painting over them.

Nothing gives me greater pleasure than seeing other craftsmen do outstanding work that is very well prepared and totally fit for purpose for the long term. I believe that there is something of a renaissance regarding this with many contractors taking great pride in their work however there still remains and under class of awful Bodge it & Leg It painters who appear determined to carry on with their virtually zero preparation as well as use of home made powder based fillers that simply last for just a few months before splitting and lifting from the timberwork. With their very thin one coat paints they are already thinking about their next jobs and over charging one for a complete rubbish service that invalidates the lifespan of the paint products used.
If you find yourself a victim of any substandard work stop it at the earliest possible stage and refuse to pay the contractor, as they should not be allowed to profit from failing to provide you with the professional service that one deserves.
